Las Vegas, Nev. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) released the following statement condemning the Trump Administration’s woefully inadequate response to funding requests for hurricane relief in Texas and Florida, and their refusal to request additional funding for Americans in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands:
“Today’s announcement by the Trump Administration on hurricane relief shows that this White House refuses to understand the reality confronting Americans who have had their lives and livelihoods turned upside down. It is President Trump’s duty to listen to and meet the needs of the communities impacted by these terrible storms. As we’ve seen with their response in Puerto Rico, this Administration continues to come up short. We must do more for Americans’ suffering in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and we must provide more hope to Texas, Florida, and all other affected areas. They must receive the resources and support they need to rebuild.”
