Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto voted against the confirmation of Kristi Noem to be the next Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security:
“The Trump administration’s immigration policies – from ending asylum as we know it to targeting DREAMers, TPS recipients, and U.S. citizen children of immigrants – won’t make Nevadans any safer. We need commonsense border security and real solutions to crack down on drug and human trafficking, not political games. Kristi Noem’s embrace of President Trump’s chaotic agenda will hurt Nevada communities, and I cannot support her confirmation.”
