Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) participated in the Families Belong Together Day of Action Rally to demand that President Trump put an immediate end to the inhumane practice of separating parents from their kids at the Southwest border.
“Separating families is not only inhumane, it is against everything we stand for as a country. President Trump should immediately reverse his administration’s new ‘zero tolerance policy’ for migrants at the border,” said Cortez Masto. “I’ve co-sponsored legislation to stop tearing families apart and protect children’s rights. But let me be clear: this crisis was not caused by Congress. It was caused by President Trump. He only has to say the word in order to stop the internment of thousands of innocent children and release them back to their parents.”
