Las Vegas, Nev. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) today delivered remarks at the Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) 2018 National Convention in Las Vegas. She addressed the need for greater protections against discrimination, stronger consumer protections, and steps to protect diverse communities in the United States.
“All too often, people of color, including members of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community, face discrimination while navigating the housing market. I’m working to end housing discrimination, expand access to affordable housing and strengthen consumer protections so that more families in this country can purchase a home. Home ownership is safety, stability and security. It’s a pathway into the middle class. We must continue working to expand access to affordable housing and promote homeownership in every American community.”
