Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) issued the following statement after a majority of the Senate Republican Caucus voted to deny Nevadans, and the American people testimony from key witnesses and documents in the Senate impeachment trial:
“Today is a sad day for our country and the rule of law in America. The American people were denied a full trial with all of the relevant facts and evidence. As a former Attorney General for the State of Nevada, I know what a real trial looks like, and this wasn’t it. Nevadans deserved the full truth and our country is worse off because of the actions of the Majority Leader tonight.”
