Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) released the following statement opposing Scott Bessent to serve as President Donald Trump’s Treasury Secretary. The statement follows her vote against moving his nomination out of the Senate Finance Committee today.
“Scott Bessent has made it clear that he is focused on extending the tax cuts for President Trump’s billionaire friends, not on helping middle class Nevadans. My priority will always be Nevada families, and I oppose Mr. Bessent’s confirmation.”
