Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) released the following statement on the Clark County Lands Bill Resolutions:
“I applaud the Clark County Commission for working closely with local leaders, advocates, and stakeholders to spur economic development and to protect Nevada’s public lands. These resolutions are an important first step in addressing Clark County’s needs as its population continues to grow. In addition, these resolutions highlight Clark County’s commitment to utilize new and innovative solutions in urban planning by using smart growth planning strategies to ensure the protection of beloved sites like the Red Rock National Conservation Area and preserving habitat for sensitive wildlife. I look forward to working with the Commission, members of our Congressional delegation, and stakeholders across Nevada to develop balanced federal legislation that meets the county’s needs, prioritizes smart growth, and invests in conservation.”
