Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senators Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) and Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.) issued this statement following Governor Sisolak’s announcement that he would be closing restaurants, bars, non-essential retail stores, and casinos for 30 days to protect the safety and health of Nevadans in order to ensure Nevada’s public health infrastructure does not become overwhelmed:
“Governor Sisolak has taken unprecedented action tonight in order to slow down the spread of the coronavirus to protect the health and safety of Nevadans,” said Senators Cortez Masto and Rosen. “We know the Governor did not come to this decision lightly or easily – and we support him. In the days and weeks ahead, we will be working tirelessly with Governor Sisolak, state and local leaders, and our federal delegation to ensure that our state’s vital tourism, gaming and hospitality industries, as well as the workers and customers their businesses depend on, bounce back from this pandemic and are supported through this difficult time. ”
