Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senators Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) and Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.) applauded the Tribal Transit Grant Program, administered by the Federal Transit Administration, for awarding the Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribe $137,180 to fund improved transit services.
“This funding will help members of the Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribe get where they are going more easily and reliably. We are committed to pushing in the Senate to support our tribal communities’ needs for transportation, housing, and other critical services.”
BACKGROUND:
This project was selected on a competitive basis through the Tribal Transit Grant Program. The Tribal Transit program makes funds available to help American Indian and Alaskan Native tribal governments initiate, continue and improve transit service. The Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribe will receive funding for operating assistance to continue services for tribal members who live within the boundaries of the Fallon Reservation.
