Cortez Masto, Rosen Applaud Funds for Rural Health Clinics to Increase COVID-19 Testing

Las Vegas, Nev.  U.S. Senators Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) and Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.) announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), provided $791,383 to 16 Rural Health Clinics (RHCs) across Nevada to fund COVID-19 testing.

“We’re glad to see these funds go to support testing in rural areas of Nevada,” said the Senators. “With less capacity to handle large outbreaks, these parts of the Silver State need to be able to rapidly test for and respond to any COVID-19 cases. We’re working in the Senate to make sure all of Nevada gets the resources the state needs to obtain testing supplies, train staff, and track and report data.”

BACKGROUND:

These funds were made available through the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act, which both Senators Cortez Masto and Rosen supported.
