Cortez Masto, Rosen Applaud $26 Million to Update Reno-Tahoe Airport

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senators Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) and Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.) applauded the Department of Transportation (DOT) for awarding Reno-Tahoe International Airport $26,281,250 in discretionary grants for much-needed updates.

“This funding will help support the ongoing project to improve Reno-Tahoe’s runways and get travelers where they need to go more safely and more quickly. We will keep working to make sure tourism and commerce into and out of the Silver State move smoothly and efficiently.”

BACKGROUND:

Senators Cortez Masto and Rosen both provided critical support for the development and passage of the bipartisan 2018 Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization Bill. The legislation authorized a total of $96.7 billion in funding for federal aviation infrastructure, safety and research programs over five years. Senator Cortez Masto supported the legislation in the Senate, and then-Congresswoman Jacky Rosen supported it in the House of Representatives.
