Cortez Masto Joins Vice President Kamala Harris, Culinary Union to Celebrate Nevada Labor

Las Vegas, Nev. – Today, U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) kicked off 2024 by joining Vice President Kamala Harris, the Culinary Workers Union Local 226, and Nevada union representatives to highlight how organized labor is supporting hardworking families across the state.

“Fresh off a year of major victories for unions nationwide, I’m thrilled to kick off 2024 by celebrating the Nevada workers who are driving our economy,” said Senator Cortez Masto. “My family built a life in Las Vegas thanks to the support unions provided, and I’ll always stand with organized labor and our working families.”

The proud daughter of a Teamster, Cortez Masto is fierce advocate for Nevada’s working families and has cosponsored the PRO Act to protect workers’ rights to come together and bargain for higher wages, better benefits, and safer workplaces. She is fighting to ensure the safety and health of workers who are exposed to dangerous heat conditions in the workplace. In helping pass legislation like the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the CHIPS and Science Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act, she’s worked to bring more good-paying union jobs to Nevada.
