Reno, Nev. – Yesterday, U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) met with local businesses to discuss trade, participated in a demonstration of innovative broadband delivery solutions in rural communities, and met with local officials in Pershing.
“Yesterday, I met with businesses in Nevada that are job creators and economic drivers in our state. It’s critical that we ensure that the playing field is fair for American businesses and that they have the certainty to plan for their economic future and create good paying jobs in our communities. I’m always glad to meet with Nevadans who are working to create jobs and strengthen our economy so that we can together find ways for the federal government to support their efforts. Trade is a key driver of business in the Silver State, and I’m using my seat on the Senate Finance Committee to make sure Nevadans’ interests are represented in Washington.
“In addition, I was proud to see a demonstration of the innovative solutions to addressing rural broadband delivery in our rural communities. These types of demonstrations show why Nevada is the Innovation State. I look forward to working with local stakeholders on the ground in Pershing and in rural counties across Nevada to solve the challenges they face, improve local economies, and ensure that our rural communities receive the support and services they need to thrive.”
