Las Vegas, Nev. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) today hosted a roundtable with LGBTQ community leaders and advocates in Southern Nevada to discuss the concerns of the LGBTQ community and the consequences of the Trump administration’s efforts to undermine hard-fought protections for LGBTQ Americans. During the roundtable, she discussed her efforts in the Senate to fight anti-LGBTQ discrimination in housing, employment, the military and education.
“On the eve of Las Vegas PRIDE, I thank Las Vegas’ LGBTQ community for meeting with me and sharing the challenges they’re facing under this administration. From implementing a bigoted transgender military ban to enabling federal contractors to disregard equal employment opportunity rules, President Trump continues to move us in the wrong direction. I’m fighting in the Senate against these hateful policies, and I’m doing all I can to advance legislation that ensures equality and justice for all Americans.”
