Las Vegas, Nev. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) today attended the Trauma Strong: Stories of Survivors community healing event, where she joined survivors, medical personnel, first responders and community members to honor those affected by the 1October tragedy.
“It is a solemn privilege to be able to hear the testimonies of the brave 1October survivors and first responders who shared their stories today. So many people have scars from that night, visible and invisible, and today’s coming together to hear their stories is both a sign of our community’s continued journey toward healing, and a testament to our strength and resiliency. I heard testimonies of the heroism of those who put their lives on the line to save complete strangers and of survivors dealing with unimaginable pain and overcoming it every day. I am grateful to Sunrise Hospital for hosting this event and giving survivors a platform to share how they are Trauma Strong.”
