Las Vegas, Nev. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) joined Black community leaders and families to celebrate the 42nd annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade in Las Vegas. Cortez Masto served as one of the parade’s Grand Marshals and kicked off the parade by speaking about the importance of honoring Dr. King’s life and legacy.
“I’m honored to serve as Grand Marshal for this year’s parade and join Las Vegas’ Black community to celebrate the legacy of the great Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,” said Senator Cortez Masto. “Dr. King’s words and his actions taught us that we must use our voices, stand up for our beliefs, and celebrate our differences. This is what Las Vegas is all about, and I’m proud to join so many Nevada families celebrating our shared vision of a better future.”
