Cortez Masto, Colleagues Recognize Native American Heritage Month

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senators Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) joined Senators John Hoeven (R-N.D.), chairman of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, and Tom Udall (D-N.M.), Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, in introducing a Senate resolution marking November as Native American Heritage Month.

“Native American Heritage Month is a time for all of us to celebrate the immense economic, cultural and political contributions that Native Americans have made to our country. This year, Native American Heritage Month takes on new meaning as we celebrate the election to Congress of the first Native American women in United States history. I celebrate that diversity and also honor the Native peoples of Nevada, who have called the beautiful landscapes of our state home for thousands of years. I’ll keep fighting in the Senate to honor our sacred trust relationship and ensure that the rights of all indigenous people are restored, upheld and protected.”
