Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) joined a Facebook Live video conference with members of the Nevada Immigrant Coalition’s UndocuCouncil to discuss the Supreme Court’s recent ruling that blocks President Trump’s attempt to end protections for Dreamers. The Senator spoke about the importance of the Supreme Court’s DACA decision and discussed how she’s fighting in the Senate to provide permanent relief for Dreamers.
“President Trump has been attacking Dreamers since he stepped foot in the White House. Groups like the Nevada Immigrant Coalition have been on the front lines of the fight to protect Nevada’s DACA recipients, and I’m proud to stand with them in this work. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the Supreme Court’s ruling than to discuss the progress we’ve made and the work we still need to do to finally put Dreamers on a pathway to citizenship. I’ll continue fighting alongside these brave young Nevadans to make sure Dreamers never have to go back to shadows and can finally stop living with fear and uncertainty.”
