Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) issued the following statement commemorating the observed 157th anniversary of the State of Nevada’s admission to the Union.
“I love Nevada Day, because it gives me a chance every year to reflect on my home and all that it means to me. From hiking in the Ruby Mountains to enjoying a world-famous show on the Strip, I find that Nevada is full of sites and experiences that simply can’t be replicated anywhere else. And no matter where I am in the state, I know I’ll meet incredibly diverse, hardworking, and inspiring Nevadans. That’s why I’m so committed to fighting for Nevada in the Senate and ensuring our state has what it needs to recover from the pandemic, grow our economy, and create good-paying jobs. I hope that Nevada Day is a chance for everyone in the state to reflect on the strength of our communities during the past year, to celebrate their friends, families, and neighborhoods, and to appreciate the place we all call home.”
