Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) spoke today at the Latino Luncheon Series hosted by the Latino Leaders Network. The luncheon brings together Hispanic leaders and entrepreneurs from across the country to forge connections, celebrate accomplishments and advance the interests of Hispanic communities in Nevada, and across the country. At the luncheon, Senator Cortez Masto introduced former Governor Brian Sandoval, who was honored with the Eagle Leadership Award, and accepted the Chairman’s Award on behalf of her late father, Manny Cortez.
“Thank you to the Latino Leaders Network for 15 years of service in bringing the Latino community together in Nevada, and across the country. It was an honor to introduce Governor Sandoval and celebrate his achievements on behalf of the Silver State. I was also humbled to accept an award on behalf of my late father, Manny Cortez. My father was exceptional at bringing communities together – something today’s gathering embodied. I know he’d be so proud to see so many Latinos gathered here today, and to witness the first Latino Governor and Latina Senator in Nevada’s history celebrating our community. I look forward to seeing all the accomplishments the Latino community in Nevada will achieve in the years to come.”
