Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) applauded the United States Department of Education for awarding $14,829,400 over five years to the Clark County School District. These grants will be utilized by magnet schools in Clark County to promote academic achievement among minority and low-income students.
“These awards will help young scholars in Southern Nevada develop the skills they need to become our state, and our country’s, future leaders,” said Sen. Cortez Masto. “I’m thankful for the Department of Education’s support as we work to ensure that all of Nevada’s students, regardless of background or socioeconomic status, are given the opportunity to reach their full potential.”
The first installment of this award, totaling $1,791,055, will be delivered to the CCSD in October.
