Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) released the following statement applauding the U.S. Department of Transportation for disbursing a total of $2,741,111 in grant funds to the Elko Regional Airport for runway and apron improvements:
“There is no doubt that Nevada, being the seventh largest state in the country by size, is vast and many people who call the Silver State home live in the rural heartland of our state. The size of our state and the distances between cities and towns make our airports vital to keeping all Nevadans connected. With grants from the federal government, Nevada’s airports are kept in upgraded condition. I thank the U.S. Department of Transportation for distributing nearly $3 million to improve the Elko Regional Airport.”
