Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) applauded the U.S. Department of Transportation’s award of $125,000 to the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC). The grant funding is authorized through the Helping Obtain Prosperity for Everyone (HOPE) Program and will be used to enhance transit service in areas of persistent poverty.
“I’m glad to see that the Regional Transit Commission of Southern Nevada is receiving federal funding to assist with improving their transportation service in order to expand access for more residents of the Las Vegas Valley. The coronavirus disease has exasperated socio-economic inequalities for low-income individuals and I’m committed to ensuring Nevadans have access to the resources they need to thrive.”
