Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) released the following statement in response to the Supreme Court’s ruling today in Janus v. American Federation of State, Municipal, and County Employees.
“Unions have always been a powerful voice for better wages, safe working conditions and equal pay for equal work. Today’s Supreme Court decision hurts American workers and will further economic inequality in America. This decision will weaken the ability of working people to join together in unions to improve their workplaces and collectively bargain for the benefits they’ve earned. I will continue to fight for middle and working class families. The rights of union workers must remain strong and protected.”
