Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) released the following statement after the Senate voted 96-3 to advance the America’s Water Infrastructure Act of 2018 to a final vote. The bill includes the Senator’s provision to help protect $181 million in federal funding for critical flood control projects in the Truckee Meadows.
“Tomorrow’s critical vote will determine whether Northern Nevada has the necessary resources to protect itself from natural disasters. My amendment to the water infrastructure bill would correct a technicality that threatens the future of the Truckee Meadows Flood Control Project and ensure that the project remains eligible for millions of dollars in federal funding to protect residents and business throughout the Truckee Meadows. I look forward to its passage.”
