Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) released the following statement in response to President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address:
“President Biden laid out a strong vision of how to continue moving America forward and build on the historic progress we’ve made in the last four years. In Nevada, we’ve created a record number of good-paying jobs, cut prescription drug prices, and revitalized our infrastructure. Tonight, the President made it clear that there is more to do to help working families get ahead, from making homeownership more affordable and lowering costs for families to standing up for democracy and women’s rights.
“I also commend President Biden for once again calling for bipartisan cooperation on tough, fair measures to strengthen our border security and stop the flow of dangerous drugs, including fentanyl into our communities. I appreciate his leadership, and will continue to work with my colleagues in the Senate to keep our communities safe, stand up for our allies and partners abroad, and deliver for hardworking Nevada families at home.”
