Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) released the following statement on the United States’ strike against the Syrian regime:
“President Bashar al-Assad’s use of chemical weapons for a second time against innocent civilians, including women and children is unacceptable. We must ensure that Assad’s regime is no longer capable of conducting chemical warfare, and that any remaining chemical weapons in Syria do not fall in the wrong hands. While I support the Administration’s proportional response to this atrocity, any further military action against the Syrian regime should be debated and approved by Congress.”
