Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) applauded the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) for awarding more than $4 million to Nevada rural airports.
“Keeping our rural airports up-to-date is an important priority for me,” said Senator Cortez Masto. “Functioning airports are integral to the economic development of rural Nevada since they contribute to the connectivity of all our communities. I thank the DOT for providing these necessary grants to Yerington and Winnemucca. I will continue to work to secure funds like these so Nevada’s transportation infrastructure remains strong.”
The following funds will be awarded:
- $2,708,892 to Yerington Municipal Airport for runway and taxiway rehabilitation, and
- $1,594,850 to the Winnemucca Municipal Airport for taxiway rehabilitation.
