Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) released the following statement on the passage of the ‘minibus II’ appropriations package, which includes funding for the Department of Transportation, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Treasury, the Small Business Administration, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of the Interior, and the Environmental Protection Agency, among others. “This legislation rejects President Trump’s proposal for devastating cuts to critical programs that help Nevadans. Instead, this bill represents important bipartisan work in Congress that provides crucial funding on issues I have fought for in the Senate. These provisions include increased funding for unmanned aircraft systems research, funding for new studies on methods for ending youth homelessness, the allocation of federal dollars to build new air traffic control contract towers, and ensures the continued operation of the USDA and FDA, while also making important investments in conservation programs and our National Park System. I will continue to fight in Congress to secure critical funding for Nevada’s affordable housing, transportation and technology initiatives, and to protect our environment and natural resources.” ### |
