Cortez Masto Supports Kimberly Reed’s Nomination to Head Ex-Im Bank

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.), a member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, released the following statement on her committee vote earlier today in support of the nomination of Kimberly Reed to serve as President of the Export-Import (Ex-Im) Bank of the United States.

“The Ex-Im bank has financed more than $7 million in exports from Nevada in the past five years, and is vital to ensuring that Nevada’s exporters have the resources necessary to enter foreign markets on an even playing field. Kimberly Reed has proven herself to be a strong supporter of the Ex-Im Bank’s mission and has vowed to ensure that the bank continues to approve deals, fund projects for small businesses and institute reforms. I am confident she will do the job well. I will continue to advocate for local Nevada business owners and residents of rural communities to ensure they receive the vital support and resources for their companies and small businesses. I will continue to work with my Banking Committee colleagues to confirm the additional board members needed for a functioning and strong Ex-Im Bank that prioritizes American workers and businesses.”
