Las Vegas, Nev. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) applauded the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) $1.5 million grant to the Tahoe Transportation District Project, which will provide funding for state and local authorities for the purchase or lease of zero-emission and low-emission transit buses.
“Investments to improve public transportation in Lake Tahoe will benefit the area’s local tourism economy and enhance the quality of life for local residents. I’m pleased that the Department of Transportation remains committed to clean energy alternatives that help combat environmental pollution from carbon emissions. I have seen firsthand the need for innovative and clean transportation solutions in Nevada, as well as the important work the Tahoe Transportation District Project has done to protect Lake Tahoe and improve mobility for Nevadans. I will work to ensure that we continue to fund and find clean, innovative transportation projects to help Nevadans with their transportation needs, while reducing carbon pollution and protecting the environment.”
