Las Vegas, Nev. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) attended a citizenship fair hosted by the Citizenship Project, Culinary Union 226 and UNITE HERE! Bartenders Local 165, which provided free assistance to applicants navigating the citizenship process. The senator met with union members and applicants to thank them for their time and effort serving the immigrant community in Southern Nevada.
“While President Trump continues to vilify and attack immigrants with his dangerous policies and vitriolic rhetoric, today’s citizenship fair was a reminder of the beauty of our country and its diversity, as well as the important contributions that immigrants make in our community. In Nevada, we are proud to be home to thousands of immigrants who make our country stronger, teach in our schools, operate small businesses, and help our communities thrive. I hope that this free workshop will encourage immigrants to pursue the opportunities available to them to become naturalized U.S. citizens and fully embrace their inspirational role as leaders in our community.”
