Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) applauded the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for awarding $2,255,180 to Head Start of Northeastern Nevada, which provides support and services for low-income children and their families.
“Every Nevadan deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their family’s income or access to resources. The Head Start program, for more than 50 years, has provided opportunities to countless low-income families and their children to succeed and thrive by preparing them for school through education, health and social services. I commend HHS for continuing to invest in the future of young Nevadans and I will make sure critical programs like Head Start and other early childhood development programs continue to get the funding and support they need from Congress.”
