Las Vegas, Nev. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) delivered remarks at the biannual 926th Wing Mandatory Unit Training Assembly (MUTA) in support of Air Force Reservists. Senator Cortez Masto also reaffirmed her commitment to fight for military families and their benefits.
“The 926th Wing works tirelessly to ensure that our country is prepared and ready for sustained combat operations. Our military personnel, both active duty and reserve, and their families deserve the highest quality of benefits and protections. I will continue to fight in the Senate to prioritize our military and safeguard the health and financial well-being of these brave men and women. I am honored to represent such dedicated patriots in the state of Nevada.”
BACKGROUND:
The 926th Wing is part of the 10th Air Force, Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth, Texas. The Wing is located at Nellis Air Force Base as an associate unit to the United States Air Force Warfare Center. Its mission is to provide elite mission-ready Reserve Airmen through Total Force Integration across air, space and cyberspace. The 926th Wing also supports the U.S. Air Force’s First Remotely Piloted Aircraft wing, the 432nd Air Expeditionary Wing, in its mission to train pilots, sensor operators and other RPA crewmembers, and conduct combat surveillance and attack operations worldwide.
Senator Cortez Masto recently passed a legislative initiative in the National Defense Authorization Act of 2019 to support members of Nevada’s RPA community. The legislation directs the Government Accountability Office to conduct an independent analysis on ways to more rapidly improve services and reduce stress for Nevada’s remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) members and their families.
