Goldfield, Nev. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) met with the Walker Lake Working Group in Hawthorne, Nevada, to discuss federal support for local conservation efforts. She later toured the Crescent Dunes Solar Energy Project in Tonopah, Nevada, and visited the Historic Goldfield Hotel in Goldfield, Nevada.
“Today I heard from members of the Walker Lake Working Group about the importance of preserving Walker Lake for Nevada’s ecological and economic future. I will continue to work to ensure Nevada conservation groups receive the necessary support to continue their efforts.
“I also had the privilege of touring the Crescent Dunes Solar Energy Project, an exciting renewable energy project that is bringing green jobs and sustainable energy to Nye County and the Silver State. I’m thankful to everyone at SolarReserve for showing me their cutting edge facility and for keeping Nevada on the path to its clean energy future.
“Finally, it was a pleasure to visit the Goldfield hotel in Esmeralda County and learn about the role it played in our state’s history.
