Las Vegas, Nev. – Today, U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) released the following statement in recognition of Veterans Day, which falls on Sunday, November 11th.
“On Veterans Day, we are reminded of the thousands of Nevadans, and millions of Americans, who have put their lives on the line to protect and defend our freedom. As veterans of the United States Army, my father and grandfathers taught my sister and I the values of hard work, integrity, and respect as well as reminded us of the many sacrifices our brave veterans make every day in service to our country.
“Today, and every day, we must recommit to honoring these sacrifices by fighting to ensure service members have all the resources they need while serving and when they return home to their families. Our veterans and their families deserve the best health care we can provide, affordable housing, educational and career opportunities, and financial security. I am proud to continue my work in the United States Senate to honor the founding values of America, honor the service of our veterans from every war, and fight for legislation that helps repay the countless debts we owe these brave Americans.”
