Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) today applauded Senior Corps, part of the Corporation for National and Community Service, for awarding $450,000 to the Jewish Family Service Agency in Las Vegas. This grant award will fund volunteer support for 150 senior veterans in Southern Nevada, helping them build and maintain independent living skills, including meal preparation, self-care, and medication compliance.
“Americans are forever indebted to our veterans for their bravery and sacrifice. We must do everything in our power to ensure they can live their golden years with dignity and companionship. I commend Senior Corps for supporting the Jewish Family Service Agency’s vital work to empower Nevada’s senior veteran community, and I will continue fighting for our elderly veterans to have the resources and support they need to live independently and thrive.”
