Las Vegas, Nev. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) today hosted a roundtable with Nevada State Senator Yvanna Cancela and Nevadans impacted by the high cost of prescription drugs. As part of the roundtable, the senator discussed her efforts in the Senate to bring down prescription costs and heard from Nevadans and state leaders on lessons from the State of Nevada that she can take to Washington to address the high cost of prescription drugs.
“Hardworking Nevadans shouldn’t have to decide between paying for prescription drugs and putting food on the table. Today, I heard from seniors and Nevadans who are struggling to afford their prescriptions and are frustrated that the government isn’t acting quickly enough. America is one of the richest countries in the world – people should be able to afford their prescription drugs and afford quality health care. I’m using my seat on the Senate Finance Committee to fight for Nevadans by reducing the high cost of prescription drugs and ensuring that we hold pharmaceuticals companies accountable so Americans can afford the medications they need.”
