Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) released the following statement celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, which begins on Sunday, September 15th and ends on Tuesday, October 15th.
“Hispanic Heritage Month is an opportunity to celebrate the rich traditions and contributions of our Hispanic community. In Nevada, our state’s Hispanic heritage transcends the names of our cities and towns. From Raphael Rivera’s exploration of the Las Vegas Springs, to the Mexican miners who helped build Virginia City, to the nearly one million Latinos who live here today, Nevada has always meant home for Hispanic Americans. I’m honored to represent Nevada’s Hispanic community as a United States Senator, and I’ll continue fighting to give them a voice in Washington.”
