Cortez Masto Convenes Nevada Broadband Workshop on the Importance of Bridging the Digital Disconnect

Broadband Summit

Reno, Nev. –  Today, U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) delivered remarks at the Nevada Broadband Workshop. In her remarks, the Senator discussed her work to improve broadband connectivity and infrastructure across the state, while also ensuring that Nevada’s local agencies have the resources they need to spur development and grow their economies. Senator Cortez Masto requested and helped organize this event to give Nevadans the chance to speak directly with federal and state officials about challenges and opportunities for the expansion of broadband capacity, access, and utilization.

“I’d like to thank the NTIA, Senator Jacky Rosen and the many federal agencies, industry experts and local leaders who came together with me today in Reno for this workshop. Nevada’s taking great strides towards connecting our communities and maintaining our leadership as the Innovation State. But there is also a lot of work that still needs to be done to ensure the Silver State’s rural and urban communities have access to high quality, affordable broadband service. I will continue to fight for bipartisan solutions that improve access to quality, high-speed Internet for all Nevadans because it’s central to the state we all love.”
