Cortez Masto Celebrates Nevada Day

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) released the following statement commemorating the 155th anniversary of the state of Nevada’s admission to the Union. This year, the Nevada Day celebration also marks 100 years since Nevada’s 17th and final county, Pershing County, was incorporated.

“Home means Nevada. In my travels around the state, I’ve been lucky enough to experience that feeling of home in each county across the Silver State. Nevada has so much to offer, from hiking the stunning Ruby Mountains in Elko County to visiting the historic Goldfield Hotel in Esmeralda County. But what I’ve found most inspiring is that Nevada’s residents are even more unique and diverse than its landscapes. No matter whether your family has spent generations ranching in the Amargosa Valley, or are proud new citizens in Las Vegas, I’m honored to represent all the hardworking, creative and innovative Nevadans who call the Silver State home. I’ll keep fighting for a future full of opportunity and potential in Nevada.”
