Cortez Masto, Rosen Statement on Ongoing COVID-19 Legislation Negotiations

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senators Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) and Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.) released the following statement following their procedural vote against Senator McConnell’s partisan coronavirus legislation.

“The priority for any coronavirus relief legislation must be supporting our hard working families and strengthening our health care system to meet the challenges ahead,” said the Senators. “We will continue fighting for Nevada until we are confident that the Senate package represents our state’s priorities, and we remain optimistic that the Senate will move quickly and in a bipartisan way. We’re continuing to work with our colleagues on a bipartisan agreement that protects everyone: our small and large businesses, our workers, our struggling families and our vital gaming, tourism, and clean energy sectors, and outdoor recreation industries whose businesses are the foundation of the Silver State’s economy so that when this pandemic ends, Nevadans can get back to work.”
