Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senators Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) and Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.) announced $2,785,892 in Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grants.
“Now more than ever, it’s important for small airports in Northern Nevada to get the infrastructure improvements that will let them serve rural communities best,” said the Senators. “These airports are a lifeline for food, medical supplies, and emergency assistance to remote parts of our state, and we’ll keep working to make sure that they get the funds they need to stay up-to-date.”
BACKGROUND:
The Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) provides grant funding to airports across the country in order to strengthen our nation’s aviation infrastructure. Airports are awarded funding based on their passenger volume and demonstrated project needs.

As a member of the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee’s Aviation and Space Subcommittee, Senator Rosen is a strong supporter of investing in Nevada’s aviation infrastructure.
