Las Vegas, Nev. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) announced today that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) awarded $3,731,475.19 to the Renown Regional Health Center in Reno, Nevada.
“I’m pleased to see these funds going to support treatment and care for coronavirus patients in Northern Nevada. Patients come to Reno from miles away to get the best possible care, and these funds allow hospitals to address the needs of Nevadans with COVID-19 while keeping visitors, staff, and medical personnel safe.”
BACKGROUND:
Renown Regional Health Center is the largest hospital in Northern Nevada, and it has the only trauma center and children’s emergency room in the region. Funds will go toward performing emergency protective measures, including emergency medical care, use of medical equipment, and purchase of personnel protective equipment and supplies in order to protect public health and safety.
